Swiss Baseball Softball Federation General Assembly welcomes four new members

President Dagmar Voith Leeman described the 2023 season as successful and highlighted the historic participation in the Baseball European Championship.

The WBSC Headquarters in Pully hosted the 42nd Swiss Baseball Softball Federation (SBSF) General Assembly on Saturday.

The Assembly welcomed four new member clubs: Geneva Tigers, Bulle Red Sox, Sierre Beavers and Swiss Toros. The clubs are part of the French-speaking Swiss Baseball League (LSRB, Ligue Suisse Romande de Baseball). SBSF now counts 22 members.

Geneva Tigers, Red Sox Bulle, Lausanne Indians, and Martigny Minotaures will join the SBSF's first league. Swiss Toros and Sierre Beavers will join the slowpitch softball league.

President Dagmar Voith Leeman stated that the 2023 season had been successful and highlighted the U-18 Baseball European Championship Qualifier hosted in Zurich and Switzerland's historic participation in the Baseball European Championship in Czechia.

Voith Leeman also pointed out the financial stability SBSF reached thanks to the hard work of general manager Monique Schmitt.

Baseball/softball on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics programme offers "formidable sports opportunities" and, according to Voith Leeman, can also support SBSF financially.
