USA national team players still in the run for 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year

USA Softball announced a list with the 26 finalists for the prestigious individual award. A total of 10 players have worn a USA jersey.

USA Softball Women's National Team members Maya Brady and Tiare Jennings highlight the list of the Top 26 Finalists for the 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, released by USA Softball. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional athletic performance throughout the entire softball season and is considered the highest individual honour in the US collegiate softball.

Eight players have been named to represent USA in the 2024 season. Brady and Jennings are part of the US roster set to defend the world title at the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals, to be played in Castions di Strada, Italy, from 15-21 July.

In addition, NiJaree Canady, Jayda Coleman, Jocelyn Erickson, Kinzie Hansen, Lexi Kilfoyl, Kelly Maxwell are members of the Elite Team that will travel to Japan for the All-Star Series.

Kiki Milloy, who played for USA in the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group A in 2023, and Karli Spaid, a U-18 Women's Softball World Champion in 2019, are also in the run to win the Player of the Year award.

Previous winners of the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year include Olympic medallists like Stacey Nuveman, Cat Osterman, Monica Abbott, Danielle Lawrie and Rachel Garcia.

The Top 26 Finalists will be narrowed down to 10 athletes on May 15, followed by the Top 3 Finalists set to be released on May 20. The 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be revealed prior to the Women’s College World Series, which is scheduled to take May 30 – June 7 at the Softball Capital of the World® - Oklahoma City.
