WBSC publishes 2024 Governance Report highlighting significant progress

The report covers the latest updates on different levels of governance, projects and efforts to improve the culture of good governance further. The next edition will be available in 2025.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has published its latest annual Governance Report for 2023/2024 in English and Spanish, continuing its commitment to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability within the organisation.

First launched last year, the report serves as a comprehensive overview of the WBSC’s progress towards enhancing its governance. Compiled by the WBSC Integrity Unit, the report is released publicly to ensure transparency.

It is also a key area of the WBSC Strategic Plan 2022-2028, which is aligned with the Olympic Agenda 2020+5 and prioritises establishing a culture of good governance across the WBSC family as one of nine top strategic goals.

The Governance Report covers the latest updates across various levels of governance, projects and efforts aimed at furthering the WBSC’s culture of good governance. It also includes the result of the latest governance review conducted by the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF).

“The report shows that improvements continue to be made across all areas," commented WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. "However, we also recognise that there is more work to be done to ensure we are implementing the latest best practices in good governance and holding ourselves to the highest standards.”

In addition, the WBSC also conducts its own Continental Associations Governance Report and plans to extend the project to its National Federations in the future.

The WBSC published the first edition of its annual Governance Report in March 2023 and will publish the third edition in 2025. Following this, the report will be released every two years.
