Australia 6-4 Argentina: Garland's two runs rally Australia's back-to-back wins

Jeremy Garland's two runs takes him to three overall for the tournament - two behind five-run leader Masaru Nishimori of Japan - impressively without a hit from three at bats as Australia went top of Group B, level with Canada with two wins from two.

Despite Argentina’s best efforts to mount a comeback, Australia took their second straight victory at the U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup with a 6-4 win off Jeremy Garland’s two runs.

Lincoln Walk pitched 4 innings (2 H, 1 R, 4 SO), while Jack Besgrove contributed with 3 innings (1 H, 3 R, 5 SO) in relief to get the win. On the Argentinian side, Franco Saenz pitched 5 innings (5 H, 4 R, 5 SO).

Argentina got on the board in the first episode, taking advantage of an error by shortstop Kynan Molander. Caleb Van de Griendt with a 2-RBI triple to score Garland and Boston Lowe and take the lead in the match, 2-1. The South Americans showed great defence to deny Australia to pull away in the fourth.

Riley James hit a double to the left to plate Garland in the fifth and make it a two-run game. However, down by just two runs, Argentina scored three straight in the bottom fifth on a bases-loaded hit by pitch, and a defensive error to take the lead 4-3.

Joshua Routledge hit an RBI single to the left field side to plate Hayden Shaw in the sixth and closed the frame on a deadlock. Finlly, James and Samuel Seach put the final nail in Australia's victory in the last inning on a sacrifice fly by Shaw and an RBI single by Molander to finish the match 6-4.
