An inside the park home run from Justine Rosales led the Philippines to their second win of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup, beating South Africa 4-0 on Saturday in their final game of the tournament.

Rosales, who had three hits for the game, showed incredible speed as he sprinted round the bases as his hit in the top of fourth found clear ground in the deep right field.

The run broke the 0-0 deadlock and was followed by a score by Mark Gaspi in the fifth before Julius Diaz and Jerome Bacarisas scored in the seventh, sparking massive celebrations as the Philippines, who beat Demark 8-0 on Friday, wrapped up the win.

Leo Barredo claimed the win, pitching the complete game, striking out 14 batters, giving up two hits.

It’s the fourth time the Philippines, who finished 16th in 2019, finished 10th in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup and the first time since 2009. South Africa finished in 11th place, up from 12th in 2019.
