Chinese Taipei outscores Italy, finishes second in group A

Chinese Taipei outscored Italy, 15-0, in four innings.

Tzu Chiao Ou singled off Italian starter Anita Bissa to put the defending U-12 World Champions ahead in the bottom of the first. A brilliant running catch by left fielder Mathieu Silva prevented further damage.

Chinese Taipei got to Bissa with three hits in the third. The starter left with one out, and Italy needed two relievers, Lorenzo Ruberto and Diego Di Chiara, to get through the inning.

The Chinese Taipei lineup combined for 16 hits. Sheng Zhi Wu went 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

Chinese Taipei will head to the super round with a 1-1 record and seeded number two out of group A. Italy will head to the placement round with a 1-1 record.
