Iverson Allen produced three runs and scored two, while Luis Rivera and Javier Acevedo contributed with two runs to help Panama defeat France, 11-1 in five innings, and move one step closer to the Super Round. Panama blasted 12 hits in the game.

Gustavo Garcia had a great outing on Monday night for Panama, retiring nine of the first 10 hitters he faced. He pitched four innings of one-hit ball with one run and seven strikeouts. Roderick Medina pitched the fifth inning.

France used five pitchers. Arthur Coste started and was tagged with the loss for the European squad, giving up five hits and six runs.

Panama finishes group play with a 2-1 record and must await tomorrow’s result between 2-0 Japan and 1-1 Colombia to know their fate in the tournament. France (0-4) finishes in fourth place in Group B and will play in the 7th-13th Place Round.
