WBSC U-15 Baseball World Championship Final: USA vs Cuba preview

This will be the fifth time these teams will meet in the final of this event (including U-16 World Cups), being the most frequent match up.

USA and Cuba will face each other today at 5 p.m. local time in the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup - World Championship Final - at Sonora Stadium in Hermosillo, Mexico. This will be the fifth time these teams meet in the final of this event (including the 15 previous editions of the U-16 World Cups), which is the most frequent match up.

Defending champions USA have also won six world titles (2018, 2011, 2009, 2003, 2001, 1998), beating Cuba in 2011 and 2009.

The US pitching staff is second in ERA with 1.71 and lead the teams in batting average allowed with .153. However, they also lead the 13 teams of the tournament in walks allowed with 47.

Cuba’s offence is batting .304 as a team, leading the field in doubles (20) and triples (5). Their pitching staff has a 3.90 ERA.
