Lara win XIII Venezuelan Women's Baseball Championship

The defending champions came back to win the final against Anzoategui. Later this year, the Venezuelan national team are playing in the WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup from 13-18 September in Miyoshi City, Japan. They are in Group B with hosts Japan, Chinese Taipei, Cuba, France and Puerto Rico.

Lara defeated Anzoategui in the final, 6-5, and claimed the XIII Venezuelan Women's Baseball National Championship, while Distrito Capital finished third.

Lara repeated as champions this season, following their victory in 2022 when they had a one-run comeback win against Anzoategui,

Anzoategui were off to a strong start, scoring five runs in the first inning. Lara had to come from behind, scoring four runs in the fourth, tying the game in the fifth and scoring the winning run in the seventh when Johelis Colina ran home on a roller by Frandelis Garcia.

Garcia was the starting pitcher and went 3.1 innings. Reliever Abril Amaro worked 3.2 innings and earned the win.

Ten teams participated in the National Championship.
