Media registration for the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualification, taking place 24-28 September in Shanghai, China, is now available and will remain open until Tuesday, 17 September.

The best eight National Team from Asia and Oceania will compete for the ‘Olympic dream’ in Shanghai, China. The top team in the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania event will qualify for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Puerto Rico defeated today Venezuela by a score of 4-1 and concluded its participation at the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier. A two-run homer by Carsyn Gordon was the decisive play of the game.

Canada became today the fifth qualified nation for the Olympic Games softball competition in Tokyo 2020. The host team secured its ticket with a 7-0, five-innings win over Brazil. Kaleigh Rafter belted a walkoff homerun to center field in the bottom fo the fifth episode and sent Canada to its fifth Olympic Games.

Canada and Mexico join host Japan, USA and Italy as the first five qualified nations for the six-team Tokyo 2020 Olympic Softball event Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and Brazil qualify to the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup 2021. Canada and Mexico also advanced to the World Games Birmingham 2021

Danielle O’Toole pitched a great ballgame today and guided Mexico to a crucial win over Puerto Rico, 2-0, and make a giant step in their way to Tokyo 2020. Mexico was outhit by Puerto Rico 7-5, but delivered a pair of clutch hits early in the game to take a 2-run lead
