WBSC IX WBWC Group B Day 4: Japan shut out Chinese Taipei, both advance to Finals 2024. Venezuela win extra-inning thriller against Cuba.

Japan became the first team awarded a ticket to the 2024 World Championship stage as they beat Chinese Taipei. Puerto Rico outscored France, and Venezuela won an extra-inning thriller against Cuba. They will play a one-game playoff on Sunday for a spot in the final stage. Saturday's results also saw Chinese Taipei book a spot in the 2024 tournament. They will be awarded their ticket on Sunday, after the game against France.

Venezuela win extra-inning thriller with Cuba, will compete with Puerto Rico for third spot in Finals 2024

Starting pitchers Mariana Natera and Yanet Cruz went both the distance as Venezuela and Cuba fuelled into the extra inning for a chance to earn a ticket to the World Championship stage. Venezuela won on a bunt by Srishna Arciniega in the bottom of the eighth.
