WBSC Baseball Division Board Member Saber Jlajla named Tunisian Olympic Academy president

He was elected unanimously on 28 January, during the first meeting of the Executive Board chaired by Mehrez Boussayene.

Saber Jlajla, the president of the Tunisian Baseball and Softball Federation (FTBS, Fédération Tunisienne de Baseball et Softball) and the Continental Vice President Africa on the WBSC Baseball Division Board, has been named the president of the Tunisian Olympic Committee Academy.

Jlajla, who was elected to the Executive Board of the nation's Olympic Committee in December 2021, was voted unanimously on 28 January, during the first meeting chaired by Mehrez Boussayene.

The mission of the Olympic Academy is to preserve and disseminate the principles of the Olympic spirit, study and implement the social and educational principles of Olympism, and consolidate the scientific basis of the Olympic ideal.

Jlajla, 53, was one of the players of the Tunisian golden age of the 1980s in baseball and went on to manage the National Team. He was elected FTBS president in 2012.

Tunisia hosted the first-ever WBSC Congress in May 2014 and, in July 2018, became one of the first countries to introduce Baseball5.
