The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the Super Round schedule for the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier in Surrey, Canada. The top three teams in each group have advanced to the Super Round and will compete for two tickets to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

After the completion of the Opening Round, Canada (2-0), Mexico (2-0), Puerto Rico (1-1), Brazil (1-1), Cuba (0-2) and Venezuela (0-2) advance to the Super Round of the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier.

Venezuela claimed the win over Peru, 1-0, and advanced to the Super Round of the WBSC Softball Americas Qualifier. Mexico sealed Group B’s first place with a four-inning win over Brazil by a score of 10-0.

Canada (1st), Puerto Rico (2nd) and Cuba (3rd) advance to the Super Round as the top three teams from Group A. Canada will start tomorrow the Super Round with a 2-0 record, Puerto Rico with 1-1 and Cuba 0-2.

Suzannah Brookshire collected 4 RBI with a triple and a home run to lift Mexico over Venezuela, 7-0, in five innings. Brazil defeated Dominican Republic, 4-3, remains unbeaten on top of Group B and secured the qualification to the Super Round, starting on Friday.

In front of a fully packed Softball City stadium, Canada took a pivotal win today over Puerto Rico, 3-0, to seal the first place in Group A. Sara Groenewegen, Jenna Caira and Danielle Lawrie combined for a 4-hit shutout.
