15U BWC: Cuba celebrates third Shutout in Win over Brazil

Cuba is continuing to dominate opposing pitching at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. On Sunday afternoon they celebrated an 18-0 victory over Brazil. It was the third shutout in the third game for the team from the Caribbean. Nine runs in the fourth turned the game into a blowout and led to the early ending due to 15-run rule. Brazil had won its first two games in the tournament.

Six of the 15 hits for Cuba were for extra bases. 11 different players scored at least one run, Orlando Martinez and Yordan Alavarez crossed the plate even three times. Luis Robert doubled twice and drove in three. Meanwhile Edgar Escobar and Luis Ramos allowed three hits combined to keep Brazil off the board. Eduardo Souza da Silva give up three hits, five runs (3 ER) and four walks in three innings to take the loss.
