Four schools participate in introduction to baseball in Lesotho's capital Maseru

The event was held at the Prep International School. LBSA president Tseliso Lemphane confirmed the success of the initiative.

The Lesotho Baseball and Softball Association (LBSA) partnered with the Prep International School to organize an introduction to baseball in the Nation's capital Maseru to identify talent and boost grassroots activity in Lesotho.

Four primary schools participated in the initiative, which involved male and female students.

"The event was as successful as expected," commented LBSA president Tseliso Lemphane. "Kids received instruction on the basics of batting from the tee, throwing, catching and base running before playing games."

Lemphane was elected president of the Lesotho Baseball Softball Association (LBSA) last year for the term 2022-2027 with pledges to return baseball and softball to the highest level after the pandemic.

The softball season got underway in March after the conclusion of the Opening Season Tournament.
