Their rivals today, Korea, lost their opener to Hong Kong, China, in a 9-8 thriller that was decided in the seventh inning. After beating Hong Kong, China twice during the Asian Qualifier, they were stunned yesterday by their Asian rivals and today they will be looking for a much-needed win to remain in contention. Yesterday, Australia lost to USA on Game 2. In a well-played baseball game, Australia suffered with a bad inning from their pitching staff that costed them the game. The Emeralds will send right-handed pitcher Abbey Kelly to the hill.

On the other hand, Mexico aims to bounce back from yesterday’s 9-1 loss against Canada, in their opener. Rosa del Castillo had a good start yesterday, but she was pulled after a rain delay and the Mexican bullpen struggled to keep their team in the game. Manager Vicente Jimenez will need a quality start from Adriana Palma today to have a chance in the game.

The first pitch is at 15:30.

Today’s final game will see Canada and Hong Kong, China facing each other. The two teams earned a win on Day 1, and a victory today will keep them in the pole position of the group.
