Spain wins Prague Baseball Week for first time ever

The Spanish National Team won it all, defeating host Czech Republic, at the 40th Prague Baseball Week.

The Spanish National Team topped host Czech Republic, 9-0, in the final of the recently concluded 40th Prague Baseball Week, marking the first time in history that Spain won it all.

Spain's Edison Valerio was name the event's Most Valuable Player, while teammate Joger Balboa was named Best Pitcher.

The international event also included Sweden, Slovakia and a selection named the International Stars.

The Czech top baseball league, ExtraLiga, took a mid-season break, allowing the Czech National Team, together with the U-18 and U-23 National Teams, to compete in the Prague Baseball Week.

The Czech regular season will resume on 2 July.
