Top-10 WBSC Baseball World Cup Plays of the Year: No. 10 Miquel Willem (Netherlands)

Welcome to the Top-10 WBSC Baseball Plays of the Year, a review of the best 10 plays in the WBSC Baseball World Cups in 2023. The Netherlands U-18 National Baseball Team centre fielder Miquel Willem opens the list with a superb diving catch in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Taiwan.

In a tournament affected by rain, Puerto Rico and the Netherlands finished their respective groups in third place and faced each other to open the Super Round in a must-win game to remain in contention for a spot in the medal games. 

It's the top of the seventh, with Puerto Rico holding a 3-2 lead over the European team. Puerto Rico's third baseman Adonys Velez hit a line-drive into the centre right gap, but Willem turned what should've been an extra-bases hit into an out with an incredible diving catch.

The game would end 3-2 for Puerto Rico however both teams finished out of medal contention.
