Top-10 WBSC Baseball World Cup Plays of the Year: No. 4 Jamie Beerman (Netherlands)

Welcome back to the Top-10 WBSC Baseball Plays of the Year, a review of the best 10 plays in the WBSC Baseball World Cups in 2023. The Netherlands' first baseman Jamie Beerman earned the No. 4 play with a superb diving catch against Chinese Taipei at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

The Netherlands and Chinese Taipei faced off on 8 September on Day 2 of the Super Round. Chinese Taipei were leading the standings with a 3-0 record, while the Netherlands were third tied at 1-2 with Korea, Puerto Rico and USA.

In the bottom of the first inning with the score 0-0, Ting-Lun Hsu, the home team's leadoff hitter, drew a full-count walk to get on base. Hsin Chiu then attempted to sac bunt Hsu over to second, but he popped up his bunt and Beerman came out of nowhere to make a diving catch. Not only did he make the catch, but he also threw out the runner at first for a key double play.

Chinese Taipei ended up winning the game, 6-0, before finishing the tournament with the silver medal.
