Australia and Guam to compete for spot in WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup

The Blacktown International Sportspark will host the best-of-three series serving as the WBSC Oceania qualifying tournament.

The Blacktown International Sportspark, the venue of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, will host the WBSC Oceania U-23 Baseball World Cup Qualifier, which will take place from 9-11 November.

World No. 11 Australia will face No. 34 Guam in a best-of-three series. The first game is scheduled for Thursday, 9 November, at 14:30 local time. Game 2 will follow on Friday, 10 November, at 14:30 local time. The third game will be played, if necessary, on Saturday, 11 November, at 10:30 local time.

The winner will earn Oceania's spot in the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2024.

China will host the V WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup at the Shaoxing Baseball Softball Sports Culture Center. The event will go down in history as the first international baseball tournament played in mainland China.

World No. 7 Netherlands and No. 18 Great Britain are the only qualified National Teams so far. They finished first and second in the 2023 European Championship.

The U-23 Pan American Baseball Championship, scheduled from 24 to 30 November in Managua, Nicaragua, will qualify four teams.

World No. 2 Mexico, No. 9 Dominican Republic, No. 12 Puerto Rico, No. 20 Nicaragua, No. 30 Argentina (Group A), No. 6 Venezuela, No. 8 Cuba, No. 10 Panama, No. 13 Colombia, No. 28 Curaçao and No. 59 Costa Rica (Group B) will participate in the event.

The XXX BFA Asian Baseball Championship, scheduled from 3 to 10 December in Taipei City, will qualify three teams.

The set of participants in the 12-team tournament will be completed by one team from Africa and a Wild Card.

World No. 1 Japan is the defending U-23 World Champion.
