Baseball5 project: One Year Anniversary celebrated at Azraq Refugee Camp in Jordan

"We celebrate a year full of giving and happiness," refugees at the Azraq Camp wrote to WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. The WBSC intends to have the Azraq Baseball5 team participate in the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

Bagmati Province win inaugural Nepal Baseball5 National Championship

Seven provinces participated in the two-day event of the Nepal Baseball Softball Association. The National Sports Council hosted the tournament in Tripureshwor. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevanram Shrestha participated in the awarding ceremony.

Ciego de Avila to host Cuba Baseball5 National Tournament

The event is named 'Copa Venezolana' to honour the Venezuela District in the Ciego de Avila Province, which will host the games in Cuba. Briandy Molina, Orlando Amador, Lietis Arcia, and coaches Pablo Terry and Sergio Arturo Pérez will represent the World Champion National Team.

France finish 2023 on top of WBSC/KONAMI Baseball5 World Ranking

The WBSC published the first-ever Baseball5 World Rankings on 12 January. In less than one year, the top 10 went through radical change. Only No. 2 Chinese Taipei remained in the same position. Ghana improved dramatically, climbing 23 places to No. 10.

2023 Year in Focus

The confirmation by the IOC Session of baseball/softball on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics programme was one of many "giant strides" made by the WBSC in 2023. The WBSC launched new tournaments, partnered with Konami for the WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS and made significant statute changes whilst announcing 10 May as WBSC Day.

First On-Site Safeguarding Workshop a success

The WBSC Integrity Unit held the first-ever on-site safeguarding workshop during the XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup this past summer and received overwhelming positive feedback. The WBSC Integrity Unit has been promoting #SafeCall safeguarding campaign since 2021.
