The Lobas de Arecibo defeated defending champions Artesanas de Las Piedras, 3-1, in the best-of-five championship series to claim their 10th title in 12 editions of the Puerto Rico Women's Baseball League.
Las Lobas ace Janiliz Rivera shut out Artesanas, 9-0, in the first game on 28 November, but the reigning champions came back to win game two, 5-4, and tie the series. Nayri Sanchez batted in the go-ahead run in the sixth. Angelis Rivera earned the win.
Janiliz Rivera took the mound and Las Lobas shut out Artesanas in game three, 5-0.
They fell back, 6-2, but came from behind to win game four, 7-6, and clinch the title. Janiliz Rivera earned another win and became a unanimous choice for the MVP Award.
