中華台北與墨西哥在2016世界棒壘球總會U-15世界盃棒球賽都沒有完美的開場。

墨西哥在開幕戰以11-1輸給了委內瑞拉，接著對上紐西蘭以11-3的勝利取得復甦。

中華台北以18-3擊敗美國開啟這次錦標賽，接著以4-6輸給了巴拿馬。

七月31日，中華與墨西哥在Iwaki綠地球場遭遇，兩隊的賽事都還在演變。這場比賽是場你來我往的大亂鬥，墨西哥是各隊先攻，中華台北則是主隊後攻。
