GameTime Classics | Episode 45: Mexico, Japan clash in Super Round of 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup
Japan and hosts Mexico met on the last day of the Super Round. The game showcases a spectacular pitching duel, along with LMB, MLB and NPB prospects.
Hosts Mexico and Japan took the field on 6 November to open the last day of the Super Round of the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2016 at Estadio de Beisbol Monterrey.
Japan was undefeated heading into the Super Round before falling to Panama. Mexico had suffered two losses during group play, against Panama and Korea. The meeting between Mexico and Japan would shape the medal round picture.
Home Plate Umpire Edgar Estivson, Panama, called playball to open what would turn into a spectacular pitching duel between Mexico's Samuel Zazueta and Japan's Daiki Aoyama.
